Next day is Ray's birthday. He misunderstands what Karen told him, he puts
on heavy make-up and a flashy costume and sing "Scream Freedom"
which he composed. He lets Hughie turn the volume up as he misses the stage
at arena. Hughie says no at first, but he loves crazy things and turns
it up! Audience is booing, Les says "Hey, it's supposed to be rock
n' roll, not the Phantom of the f**kin' opera!" to Ray and leaves
the stage. They quarrel at backstage, Karen and Clare fight with audience
- it's impossible to continue the gig. |

(review) The sound at this gig in this movie is still "music", if it's really on full blast shaking bottles and glasses by sound pressure, it's just a big noise, not music. Hughie knows it, but he turns the volume up because he's "still crazy" more than anybody from the band. Karen and Clare are brave as they fight against a Dutch guy.....Dutch people are the tallest in Europe. And you can't work as a manager of a rock band like Karen if you're not tough. |
