His smile at 1:28:50 on this film (DVD) is just a killer. It's hard to see Bruce smiles, and many of his rolls he seldom smiles (I thought so after watching all the available DVDs which he is in) So his smile in SC is absolutely precious! His bashful smile at another scene is pretty *S* Bruce as Brian appears only for 15 minutes in the end of the movie and steals a heart of everybody in the audience away, he doesn't play a guitar (learned the lines from a guitar teacher) but looks quite like a genuine musician. I just keep asking myself why I didn't get so impressed when I watched this movie at a preview in Tokyo??? In the interview book "Smoking In Bed Bruce says "The only acting I've ever enjoyed was doing JOURNEY'S END and being STILL CRAZY." He donated what he got paid from this movie to SAVE THE CHILDREN. He likes Brian Gibson, the director of this movie, and had been sitting in his room for 16 months (!) writing "THE PECULIAR MEMORIES OF THOMAS PENMAN", and his wife Sophie said "For God's sake, get out of this room." And he thought "At least it's 2 or 3 weeks from the typewriter." And he did the roll of Brian.
