| PRIVATE ROAD （Region free, subtitles in French, German and Spanish)  Peter who is a writer met Anne at his agent office and fell in love. Anne started living with Peter to run away from her parents who interfere a lot and worry her. They left for Scotland, and Peter finished a novel, his agent didn't satisfy with it. Peter's friend Steven has been addicted by drugs, another friend Henry is a super leftist. Peter got a job at an advertising agent. Anne found she got pregnant, she and Peter talked again and again that they wanted a baby, but she came back to her parents and had an abortion. They seemed to get married, Steven who stopped drungs came to Peter and criticized his situation. Peter didn't know if he really wanted a good job, or wanted to take a responsibility for his family. After all he kept searching for "something" he wanted to do..... |
This movie was released 3 years after "ROMEO & JULIET", and Mr. Robinson in this movie looks almost the same as when he played a role of Benvolio. I didn't find what the story stands for.....I felt the same feeling when I watched "WITHNAIL AND I". This is the one to enjoy culture and background of the time when the movie was shot. It's really hard for me to follow everything as this DVD doesn't have English subtitles (there are French/German/Spanish subtitles). And this is only for people who definitely want to see Mr. Robinson's young days as you have to buy the DVD from the site of Barney Platt-Mills, the director of the movie, and the story itself doesn't have something "special".....it'll cost about JPY3,000.00- including postage. In other words it's cheap to watch young Mr. Robinson who played a main role. This DVD has A side on NTSC and B side on PAL. |
